3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

Most important hazards: All ingredients are unlikely to leach from pallets. This compound contains small amount of Sn. Sn is harmful by inhalation and if swallowed.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Inhalation: Pellets: Not applicable. At elevated temperature: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing: Artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult: Oxygen. Immediately get medical attention.
Skin contact: Pellets: Not applicable. At elevated temperature: Wash off with plenty of water and soap. Remove contaminated clothing. Get medical attention.
Eye contact: Wash off with plenty of water with eyelids open for at least 15’. Remove contact lens if worn. Get medical attention.
Ingestion: Consult a doctor if irritation occurs/persists.
Note to the physician:

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable extinguishing media: CO2, foam, dry chemical, water spray.
Specific hazards: PVC is considered as an auto-extinguisher and incapable of propagating a flame. Avoid dust condition to reduce explosion potential. See also section 10.
Special protective equipment for fire fighters: Self-contained breathing apparatus. Full protective clothing.
Specific methods: Use water to keep fire-exposed containers cool.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions: See section 8.
Environmental precautions: Stop source of spill. Do not allow to enter sewerage system and other water bodies. If yes, notify responsible authority of non-floating plastic pellets. Ingredients are unlikely to leach from pellets.
Methods for cleaning up: Sweep up spilled pellets and place in suitable container for reuse or disposal. Consult an expert on disposal of recovered pellets and ensure conformity to local regulations.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling: Maintain proper grounding against static electricity to all installation system. Spilled pellets may cause severe slipping condition.
Storage: Do not store near flame. Do not exceed 70ºC while storing in silos or any other containers.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION

Chemical name Cas No. National occupational exposure limits
Total dust   10 mg/m² ACGIH
Tin compounds   0.1 mg Sn/m² ACGIH
Engineering measures to reduce exposure: If dust condition is over recommendation use local exhaust.
Personal protection equipment
Respiratory protection: Use NIOSH approved mask if unable to control airborne dust fumes and vapors. In case of decomposition - use gas mask with type B filter in case of release of HCl.
Hand protection: Cold pellets - not necessary. Hot pellets - isolated gloves.
Eye protection: Cold pellets - not necessary. Hot pellets - face shield.
Skin & body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.
Hygiene measures: When using the material, do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash hands prior to breaks or at works’ end; clean face as well.
