Independence Day: The fair

What follows was the state of things way back, in the days of the Old Wild East in the year 2000, when we were still youthfully reckless and loved to live dangerously. Today, with the spectre of damages claims looming in the background, we have learned prudence, and the rides are no more dangerous than being wrapped in cotton-wool.
The crossbow, a difficult weapon to hit a plasticine apple with. Still, nine children were up to the challenge.
Ideally, the little kids would be standing around the pool with fishing rods in their hands fishing wooden fishes. It works like that most of the time.
Climbing the pole, or rather coming down by the rope.
An inflated tube, great fun to jump on (and hopefully make other kids fall off), has been the cause of the occasional broken arm.
The merry-go-round was a big disappointment this year. A shaft broke and couldn't be fixed in time.
