Hanucca 2000: The story of the Leviva

A leviva is a kind of pancake made of potatoes and fried on cookers which frighten the bejaysus out of me. But it's tradition and I suppose we have to undergo the risk of burning down the dining room once a year.

Anyway, here we have this leviva being fried in the pan (the pan being that yellow container on the stage)...

...getting out of the pan, rolling along the streets of the village chased by the cook, motley villagers and children...

and in the end being devoured by the hungry wolf.

This year Id el Fitr, Christmas and Hanucca were celebrated during the same week, a rare occurrence. Derah and her mom (here resting afterwards) performed a Christmas song.
