Jan Vermeer: The Astronomer, 1668
You may notice: astronomer, not astrologer. (Admittedly many astronomers dabbled in astrology as well, or even made a living from it as Kepler did.)
Today we seem to be reverting to those dark days of obscurantism. We have lost our almost absolute faith in science and everything appears to have merit. Astrology doesn't. I still cherish a newspaper clipping in which some astrologers and others of their ilk were asked who would win the 1996 Israeli elections (Peres had a 5 to 15% advantage over Netan-yahoo according to public polls). Out of about twenty pundits just one foretold a victory for Bibi.
